What happens as our face begins to change with age?

What happens as our face begins to change with age?

And no, I’m not talking only about wrinkles.

When we think about facial aging, we usually think of expression lines, spots, or sagging skin.

But the process is much more complex.

Over time, the face can change in skin, collagen, elasticity, fatty tissue, and the structures that support the face.

What’s interesting is that many of these changes begin very subtly.

That’s why today I want to explain the first signs to look for, what you can do to care for your face, and how an early professional assessment can help you make better decisions.

DEVELOPMENT

Primero: volume begins to change.

As we age, we can lose some of the fatty tissue that gives the face volume and structure. This can gradually change facial contours and make some areas look more hollow or less defined.

Second: the skin loses some of its support and elasticity.

The production and organization of components such as collagen and elastin change over time. This can contribute to reduced skin firmness and the appearance of lines that are initially visible only with certain movements but may later become more permanent.

And third: the surrounding area matters too.

Cumulative exposure to ultraviolet radiation is one of the main factors that accelerate visible skin aging. That is why we talk about photoaging.

So, what might some early signs be?

You may begin to notice changes in skin texture, fine lines, loss of radiance, changes in facial contour definition, increased dryness, or a gradual loss of firmness.

But here’s something very important:

Aging is a natural process and doesn’t mean we have to change our face.

When changes begin to concern you, avoid making decisions based only on social media trends.

Every face is different. A professional assessment can evaluate skin quality, volume, proportions, symmetry, and individual features to determine what your face really needs.

So remember:

the face does not change overnight.

That is why my recommendation is simple:

Don’t wait until the changes are obvious to start caring for your skin.
