Body hyaluronic acid behaves differently from facial hyaluronic acid: a larger volume is used, and the area is subject to pressure when sitting, sleeping, or exercising. It’s best to know what to expect during the first fifteen days ahead of time.
Days 0 to 3: swelling
This is often the most surprising phase. The area looks fuller than it will once settled, may feel tender to the touch, and small bruises may appear at the injection points. This is not the final result: it is the tissue’s expected response.
Pressure restrictions apply here: avoid sleeping on the area and do not massage it.
Days 4–7: swelling goes down
Tenderness subsides and the volume begins to settle closer to its true appearance. Asymmetry is common at this point; it is usually caused by uneven swelling, not a problem with the injection.
Days 8 to 15: final shape
The product settles into the tissue and its shape stabilizes. This is a reasonable time to assess the result, not before. If a follow-up is scheduled, it usually falls within this window for that reason.
What to expect and what not to expect
- Expected: swelling, tenderness, a small bruise, and a different feeling of firmness.
- Reason for contacting us now: dolor que aumenta con los días en vez de disminuir, cambio de color de la piel, zonas frías o pálidas, fiebre.
The second list is short and uncommon, but it is the one worth remembering.
Why We Ask You to Wait 15 Days Before Assessing the Result
Judging a body result on day three means judging the swelling. Any discussion about whether more product is needed should wait until the shape has stabilized.
