How long does Salmon PDRN actually last?

PDRN (polydeoxyribonucleotide) is a purified DNA fragment obtained from salmon sperm. It does not fill or add volume: it acts on tissue repair and collagen stimulation. That is why the question “How long does it last?” does not have the same answer as it does for a filler.

What to look for, and when

Clinical literature describes a fairly consistent pattern. Subtle changes in hydration and texture are often noticeable after the first session. More visible changes appear between the second and fourth weeks, and collagen remodeling continues for several months after the protocol ends.

In other words, the result doesn’t appear all at once or wear off all at once. It develops and then lasts for a while.

How Many Sessions Are Usually Recommended

Published protocols vary. Most commonly, 3 or 4 sessions spaced 2 or 3 weeks apart. Some studies use longer weekly schedules, while others use monthly sessions. The difference is not arbitrary: it depends on skin condition, age, and goals.

After the initial protocol, maintenance sessions are usually planned every few months.

What Determines How Long the Results Last

Three factors matter more than the technique:

  • The starting point. Skin with accumulated sun damage responds differently from young, dehydrated skin.
  • Consistency. A protocol interrupted halfway does not produce the same result as a complete one.
  • Habits. Sun protection, smoking, and sleep affect any regenerative treatment.

Why We Don’t Give a Fixed Amount

You may see clinics promising “X months.” We don’t, because study-measured duration is expressed as a range and depends on individual factors. Promising an exact figure would sell certainty where the evidence points to probability.

During your consultation, your skin is assessed and you’ll learn what to expect in your specific case, including the possibility that this treatment may not be right for you.
